In StarHub’s 2019 Chinese New Year Campaign, themed around the Year of the Pig, the focus was on creating a fun and dynamic character that would bring the festive spirit to life. Central to the campaign was a charismatic pig dressed in an orange costume, infused with the energy of the trending rap music genre, designed to appeal to audiences of all ages.

Our team developed the pig character using 3D motion design, ensuring it was both adorable and full of personality. The campaign featured three main idents and a cohesive graphic package, each showcasing the pig rapping, dancing, and interacting with festive elements in a lively and humorous way. Bright colors, smooth animation, and expressive gestures combined to create a vibrant and immersive visual experience that blended traditional Chinese New Year symbols with modern, playful storytelling.

The project emphasized fun and engagement, with motion design techniques used to enhance rhythm, timing, and comedic effect, making each ident feel fresh and memorable. By combining contemporary animation styles with culturally relevant motifs, the campaign celebrated the festive season in a way that was both modern and relatable.

Overall, the campaign demonstrated how 3D motion design can transform a simple concept into an engaging and entertaining experience, delivering a lighthearted and visually compelling celebration of Chinese New Year for StarHub audiences.
