The Lion Men (狮神决战) is a Singaporean two-part action comedy film directed by Jack Neo, released in celebration of the Chinese Lunar New Year. The story centers on three rival lion dance troupes competing against one another, blending traditional lion dance culture with modern twists, humor, and high-energy action sequences. The film explores themes of friendship, rivalry, perseverance, and cultural pride, while celebrating Singapore’s rich heritage through a contemporary cinematic lens.

Our team contributed to the production through VFX and 3D animation, enhancing the traditional lion dance sequences with dynamic visuals and digital effects. By integrating modern animation techniques with live-action performances, we amplified the impact of stunts, choreography, and the vibrant energy of the lion dance competitions. 3D animation was applied to create exaggerated movements, stylized effects, and augmented environments that gave the performances a larger-than-life cinematic appeal.

The combination of traditional cultural elements and modern visual effects allowed the film to maintain authenticity while appealing to contemporary audiences. Through digital enhancements, the lion dance sequences became more immersive, emphasizing the skill, teamwork, and spectacle of the troupes. The Lion Men stands as a festive, entertaining, and visually engaging local Singaporean movie, celebrating both heritage and innovation through VFX and 3D animation, under the direction of Jack Neo.
