TRAIN TO BUSAN HORROR HOUSE GENTING HIGHLAND MALAYSIA

Client: Genting Malaysia Berhad
Commissioned by: Our Artists' work at Vividthree

Building on the global success of the award-winning film Train to Busan, this immersive experience in Genting Highlands, Malaysia delivers a uniquely intense zombie apocalypse attraction driven by strong concept design. Guests are transported into a meticulously crafted environment featuring horror houses, zombie-infested train stations, and abandoned convenience stores, all woven together into a mission-based narrative culminating in the search for a safe haven in Busan.

Enhanced by cutting-edge 360-degree virtual reality technology, the experience offers an interactive and adrenaline-filled journey where participants take on the role of survivors. Through carefully executed concept design, each space is purpose-built to heighten tension and realism, allowing visitors to navigate the environment strategically while confronting evolving threats.

Recognized as the company’s flagship project, this Horror House represents a significant investment in both creative development and technological innovation. Developed in partnership with Content Panda, the South Korean rights holder of the Train to Busan intellectual property, the project balances authenticity with expanded storytelling to deliver a truly immersive experience.

The team undertook extensive research, repeatedly studying the film to identify scenes suitable for physical adaptation. A key challenge was maintaining the emotional depth and character motivations while leveraging concept design to introduce new interactive possibilities.

As part of its significance, the entire Singapore-based team was flown to Malaysia to experience the attraction firsthand, reinforcing its role as a cornerstone of the company’s experiential and immersive portfolio.
