TRAIN TO BUSAN VR BEIJING CHINA
Commissioned by: Our Artists' work at Vividthree
Inspired by the award-winning film Train to Busan, this immersive horror experience in Beijing, China delivers a reimagined zombie apocalypse through innovative concept design and advanced virtual reality technology. Participants are transported into a high-intensity environment where they navigate through VR-driven scenarios, zombie-infested train stations, and abandoned convenience stores, all culminating in a mission to reach the safe haven of Busan.
The attraction integrates 360-degree VR gameplay alongside 4D virtual reality experiences set within a fully constructed train interior, enhancing realism and audience engagement. Designed as a narrative-driven journey, guests assume the role of the last survivor, making critical decisions while confronting dynamic threats throughout the experience.
Regarded as the company’s flagship project, this Horror House represents a significant achievement in immersive entertainment. The entire Singapore-based team was flown to Beijing to experience the installation firsthand, underscoring its importance as a cornerstone of the company’s portfolio.
Developed in partnership with Content Panda, the South Korean rights holder of the Train to Busan intellectual property, the project faithfully reflects the original film while expanding its storyline through interactive elements. The team conducted in-depth analysis of the movie, reviewing key scenes to identify opportunities for physical and virtual adaptation.
One of the primary challenges was maintaining the emotional integrity and motivations of the characters while leveraging new technologies to enhance interactivity. The result is a highly engaging and technologically sophisticated experience that pushes the boundaries of immersive horror entertainment.
