MEDIACORP CCA TUESDAY REPORT: A HILL AND A RIVER

A Hill & A River《一座山一条河》 is a three episode documentary produced for the Singapore Bicentennial 2019, commemorating 200 years since Sir Stamford Raffles’ arrival, a milestone in Singapore’s rich and storied history. The series traces Singapore’s development through the evolution of Fort Canning and the Singapore River, exploring the historical, cultural, and social transformations that have shaped the nation.
Our team contributed to the full program package, incorporating 3D motion design and visually compelling graphics to enhance the storytelling and bring historical content to life. The motion design highlights key landmarks, maps, and archival imagery, while subtle VFX transitions seamlessly integrate historical context with modern cinematic visuals. This approach allows viewers to experience the evolution of Singapore in an immersive and engaging way, connecting past and present through dynamic visuals.
The project’s creativity and execution were recognized internationally, winning Gold for Best Programme Title Sequence at the PromaxBDA Asia Awards 2019 and Gold for Programme Opener and Titles at the World Media Festival 2020, reflecting its high production quality and innovative design.
Through thoughtful 3D motion design, VFX, and cohesive program packaging, A Hill & A River delivers an award winning documentary experience that celebrates Singapore’s history while engaging audiences in the rich narrative of its development, making it a standout production in Chinese current affairs programming.
